For Now
I went away this weekend to have some much needed girlfriend time in the big city. We celebrated my recent birthday in the only way we know how, by drinking way too much wine over dinner at the Melting Pot (can I get an Amen!?).
My good friend and I love to compare notes on life and personal understanding, and she shared with me the most amazing advice that she received from her realtor. It really struck a chord with me and so I thought I’d share it here too.
She has made huge life changes over the past year, the most recent of which was purchasing her first home on her own … a significantly smaller home than she has become accustomed to. She was frustrated, dejected and more than a little disappointed but sometimes you have to take a few steps back to move forward.
When finally discovering a house at a good price with a great deal of potential she told her realtor something to the effect that “this will be home.” To which her realtor amended, “for now.”
“This is home, for now.”
What an immense difference adding those two short words to the end of a statement can make! It changes the sentiment from something that sounds like settling, giving in or acceptance of something far less than what you want or are capable of to one that sounds full of possibility and hope for the future. Such a small amendment imparts a tremendous buoy for spirit and soul.
I am adding this small yet effective tool to my motivational tool belt and I thought you might like to do the same. Enjoy your day and remember that any disappointment that you need to accept is only a temporary condition in support of future achievement.
That’s all, for now! ;)

We all need motivational toolbelt! Hey, can you email me and tell me what company you used to make the little design on your URL blog address. ( I do not even know what you call it) Thanks!
