Is that possibly an official condition? 

I crave organization, details, plans … yet, my super left-brained self is constantly at odds with this desire, resulting in this sort of reverse-Monet effect.  You know how a Monet painting reveals beautiful detail when viewed from a distance, but when you get up close it’s an unidentifiable mess of color and strokes?  Well, my things appear to be complete chaos when seen from afar but when you lean in closer you will discover a meticulous pattern.

I bring this up as I am trying to get organized for the New Year.  I’ve completed my budget – a thing of beauty disguised as a commonplace excel workbook.  However, in moving on to create plans for other things such as horse training, career goals and weight loss (I know – so cliché!), I am running into roadblocks.

I compare this challenge to the same difficulties I have had in getting my makeup and skincare regimen to fall into one brand – it’s very much impossible.  I do CRAVE details, plans, lists … I LOVE them, and yet I fight against them.  It’s like a desire for creative perfection, which let’s be honest, is kind of an oxymoron, right?

I just know this year is going to be phenomenal … and I don’t want to be ill-prepared for a single moment.  I don’t want to be lazy and miss out on a single opportunity!

I’m wondering if anyone out there is having similar problems getting organized to take advantage of the endless possibilities that 2010 has to offer?   What are your plans? priorities? goals? 

P.S. I think I’m going to create a new category called “Cowgirl Rhetoric” to house these crazy, disorganized, ill-written posts of thoughts that skitter across my brain …  Oh! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
