Did Hell Freeze Over?!

2 December 2009 3 Comments

No, but it snowed in the desert and as far as I’m concerned that’s close enough!

I have been MIA this month and I appologize, it will not happen again.  Instead of waiting till January 1st to make my New Year’s Resolutions I decided to start early on December 1st to get a jump on … well, myself (sometimes I need to give myself a little extra room to build momentum).  Anyhoo, the reason I’m mentioning that is becasue one of my top priorities this year will be to not ditch out on y’all and make this little corner of the world wide web an entertaining and informational resource (probably in that order).

So to kick it off I want to share with you some photos from yesterday of the snow …smwindmillFor the record I did try to go to work…I’m a northerner after all!  I know how to drive in snow.  I am not afraid of a measley three inches of this cold white stuff.  However, my “town truck” made it about two-thirds of the way down our road before it refused to go on.  Poor little guy was too light and the snow was too slick … I felt bad that I had to back down the road to the house.  But not before stopping to lay in the snow for a minute … he he he.

So I made the best of it and got my cowboy to drive me out in the big truck :D   He had a good time too.

Although, not quite as good of a time as the puppy!  Jolie has never seen snow before and she wasn’t sure she approved of it … she barked at it, but this technique wasn’t as effective on the cold wet snow as it is on the cows.  So she decided to stay alert … just in case.

Except when she was in the safety of the truck … hey it was still early!

I had lots of fun though and got plenty of pictures of snowed covered desert flora like this:

Which I hope you are as amazed by as me … and have enjoyed!

So, till next time (which I promise will be very soon) … Happy December everyone!  And enjoy the snow if you have it … and I can say that with a smile because I know I won’t be enjoying another several feet of the stuff over the next 4 to 6 months :D
