Time for a Warm Up
So what does it all mean? It means I need to get started. It means I need to stop accepting the things I can change and start taking some gal darned action. It means I am giving this green filly 30 days under saddle!
Training myself for life is going to be just like starting colts. I spent a few young impressionable years cooped up in a stall, and it didn’t suit. The past few years I’ve had the chance to be turned out and it’s been nice, but now I need a job. (I mean I *have* a *job* – but work with me here)
Sooo … it’s time to decide what my strengths are, what’s my discipline going to be and start working on some foundation skills that will make me a world class performer. It’s all about pressure and release … I’m going to choose the right exercises, ask for the world and reward even the smallest try.
You know what’s funny? If you asked me yesterday how I felt about analogies in general I’d probably have told you they’re useless and cliché – hee hee hee. I’m always willing to make an exception in my own case, though – please don’t judge me too harshly!
